Symposium: Getting to Know Bost
The Limassol Theatre Development Company (ETHAL), as part of its 30th-anniversary celebrations and to commemorate 100 years since the birth of the great artist Mentis Bostantzoglou (Bost), organized a symposium in July 2018 dedicated to the unique cartoonist, humorist, satirist, playwright, lyricist, and painter.
In parallel, an exhibition is being held in the foyer of Technochoros, showcasing Bost’s drawings and cartoons, focusing on his legendary characters, such as the downtrodden Mama Greece, Aneryitsa (Little Unemployed Girl), and Pinaleon (the Always-Hungry One). The exhibition also includes photocopies of Bost’s paintings, books, and lyrics.
Curated by set and costume designer Mariza Partzili, the exhibition offers attendees the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of Bost’s work and the era he lived in—a unique humorist who created a distinctive, entirely personal, and recognizable satirical style.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until December 31, 2018, from Monday to Friday (10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.), and before every performance.
